Stuck at home/work, watch New Year celebrations on MSN Webcast

Tomorrow is the New Year’s Eve and if you are going to be stuck in either your home or office, Microsoft would be bringing you the live telecast of the celebrations from the New York’s Times Square on the internet. This would be the second straight year that MSN would be telecasting the event on their MSN Video service and this time the viewers would have the option to choose their choice of camera angles and the events they wish to view.

The event coverage would start at around 7 p.m. EST tomorrow and would continue for around six hours. The company has placed close to 26 cameras covering multiple performances throughout New York City and the viewers would also be allowed to e-mail comments or questions to the co-hosts of the live broadcast who would be reading and answering them throughout the coverage of the show.

The show would be hosted by Romeo (Romeo on the Radio) and Brandi Williams (Ultimate Poker Challenge) who would also be guiding the visitors to this online event on how to make the best of the facilities available to them. MSN claimed that the last year’s event saw viewers spending close to 45 minutes on average watching the live coverage. Considering the flexibility they would have this time around, the average viewing period of the show is expected to increase.
