Google collaborates with Intel over video search and Viiv

Search engine giants Google seems to be in ballistic mode. The company has announced so many collaborations in the last few days that it looks like the year 2006 is also going to be theirs. The latest of the series is with microprocessor giants Intel and Google plans to make it easier for the users of Intel’s new entertainment platform to locate videos on the web using their Google Video service.

This collaboration would mean that the owners of the upcoming machines powered by Intel’s Viiv technology would get easier access to search, organize, and view Internet video on their televisions and portable devices. The two tech giants in their own fields however declined to reveal financial details behind their collaboration.

Kevin Corbett, vice president of Intel’s digital home group said in a statement about this deal with Google: “With the explosion of digital entertainment choices, consumers will need simple, easy ways to locate the content they want and easily play it when they want.” The company aims to expand their focus on consumer services than being just a chip manufacturer. They also recently totally revamped their brand identity by unveiling a new logo and a tag line to showcase their future plans.
