VeriSign acquires CallVision for USD 30 million

Internet and telecommunications infrastructure services giants VeriSign has announced their latest acquisition. The company is now taking over the functioning of privately held CallVision. CallVision deals in consolidated e-billing, payment, and customer relationship management for telecommunication companies. The deal is said to be worth around USD 30 million.

VeriSign as a result of this deal would be able to offer more services to its communications clients like mobile operators, broadband companies, and Telco carriers. It would also help them simplify their billing process, reduce their operational costs, and mitigate customer churn.

The acquisition deal should be complete in the first quarter of the 2006 itself and is unlikely to affect the financial results of VeriSign. VeriSign further revealed that they would be incorporating applications from CallVision into its product called Commerce Suite. This package from VeriSign offers payment and billing services both for wireless and traditional Telco carriers.
