Tata Motors showcases Indica V2 Xeta and X-over

India’s indigenous automobile manufacturer Tata Motors has showcased the new Indica V2 Xeta variant. The Xeta here stands for inclusion of extra fuel efficiency, torque advantage engine. In addition, the company also displayed the X-over concept vehicle, which might be in the future positioned as a family car with the looks of a sports utility vehicle.

The Xeta version of Tata Indica is powered with a 1.4-litre engine and is said to deliver a fuel efficiency of 14 km per liter. Tata claims that it gives a fuel efficiency of around 14 km per liter. Now, this is not very impressive as we have in India bigger cars like the Skoda Octavia, which provides better fuel efficiency than this little beast.

Tata would be launching this new variant of Tata Indica between Rs 2.69 lakh and Rs 3.65 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. As a result, the car would now be competing with the very popular Maruti models like the Alto and other cheaper variants of upper segment cars. This was not the only variants of their existing cars that Tata showcased at the ongoing Auto Expo.

The company also displayed a longer wheelbase model of Tata Indigo named Indigo XL. This model is basically a luxury sedan with a wheelbase of 2,560 mm and premium features. Some other products displayed by the company included Indica V2 turbo diesel with dual airbags and ABS, the Indica Silhouette, a 3.5-litre concept car capable of doing 0-100 km in 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 270 km/hr.

In addition, the company also showcased a concept Armored version of Tata Sumo 4×4. This one has been powered by a 3-litre direct injection common rail diesel engine.
