Cisco Systems to enter consumer products market
Leading network hardware manufacturer Cisco Systems have announced plans to enter a broader consumer product market. They are now aiming to expand its share of the consumer electronics market. They would now be manufacturing phones, radios and home theater equipment.
Cisco believes that they have the potential to expand their services and products range by entering this market. They are now aiming at taking a slice of this ever-growing market of devices, which connects to the internet.
Cisco’s Chief Development Officer, Charles Giancarlo was quoted as saying in a media newspaper: “Consumer electronics companies have been able to compete on a stand-alone device, but the dynamics of the market are changing. The Internet and new networking requirements are enough of a disruptor for us to enter a new market.”
The company otherwise makes bulk of its revenues from selling the devices that direct Internet data. They are aiming at improving their stock position in the market and increase their revenues by expanding their product range and their presence in the consumer market for electronic products.
