Volvo to introduce CNG engine models in India
Volvo is one global automotive giant, which is playing it safely in the Indian market. They have entered the Indian commercial automobile industry in the country and are growing slowly. The company now has announced plans to launch CNG engine models here in the Indian market. The company recently launched products for the inter city bus travel in the country with its luxury coaches.
And now the plan is to enter the intra city segment by introducing its CNG models in India. Volvo Buses Head and Vice President (South Asia) Akash Passey has confirmed that the company would be bringing in the CNG models to India in the next one year. They would be targeting these new buses at the city bus segment.
Volvo recently bagged an order of 25 buses from the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation. They are now talking with the Delhi’s transport corporation for launching these intra-city buses. Delhi would become a primary target for their CNG buses as the government made it mandatory to run low pollution commercial passenger vehicles in the city.
Their recently launched Volvo City Bus is based on the B7RLE platform, which is equipped with a 7-litre engine that meets the Euro 3 emission regulations.
