Google challenges US Government but bows to China!

In an interesting twist of events, Google has faced challenges from two governments in the last couple of days. While, they declined to comply with the demand of the US DoJ to provide them with date from their search queries database, Google surprised everyone by launching censored version of their services in the China.

The company is being criticized from all over for launching services in China, which complies with the demands from the Chinese government. This means that the company would be hiding content which the government does not want their citizens to access. And in addition, the company won’t be providing services like Blogging and e-mail to their visitors in the Chinese market.

This comes just days after Google refused to part away with information related to searches made on their search engine in the United States when the US Department of Justice asked them to. Google claims that this would interfere with their privacy policies and users would get irked if the data were given to the US government.

However, market analysts believe that it is all about market economics in the end. China is too big a market for Google to ignore. And providing information about their statistics to the government might reveal way too much about the kind of searches people make on Google. This might further led to restrictions from the government on Google related to searches made related to pornographic content on the internet.
