Apple looking at a cheaper Apple iPod launch
Apple Computers is reportedly working on a cheaper variant of Apple iPod if we are to believe the incoming news. The company is expected to face a serious competition with Microsoft too reportedly working on a similar device.
A report coming in from the New York office of UBS Investment Research claims that the company is expected to overhaul their product offering sometime this year and is also expected to launch a much awaited mobile phone based on the iPod range of digital music and video players.
UBS analyst Ben Reitzes claimed that the company is looking at ending the iPod Shuffle range of players to launch new variants of their iPod nano player. The research firm believes that the iPod nano is better placed to face the competition as it comes with a screen. However, making it cheap would be a challenge for the company.
