Sprint Music Store sells more than 1 million tracks
While the market leaders in the digital music sales market on the net, Apple Computers sell close to a million tracks from Apple iTunes on a daily basis, the competitors are showcasing their capabilities as well.
Mobile service providers Sprint Nextel have announced that their Sprint Music Store has sold more than 1 million tracks since the time it was launched in October last year. This service is the first of its kind in the US, which allows the consumers to purchase digital content through their mobile phones.
The store offers a library of 320,000 songs and the consumer gets two copies of each tune after paying USD 2.5. One of the two units is for play on the mobile phone, while the other copy is for regular usage on a personal computer. Apple typically sells songs at 99 cents each but it is only playable on their own Apple iPod players and regular computers.
