Hewlett-Packard enters the retail photo printing market
The retail photo printing market is big. As per market estimates, it is worth around $35 billion and now Hewlett-Packard has announced their decision to enter this segment with their expertise.
HP introduced a self-service photo kiosk and an in-store photo studio. These would first be installed in Albertsons supermarkets and Longs Drug Stores. The company is already a global leader in manufacturing of computer printers and also is a leading PC manufacturer.
Hewlett-Packard recently gained entry into the online photo printing after they acquired Snapfish service. This latest decision would market their entry into the retail photo printing market.
The company is hoping that these kiosks would be user friendly with their touch-screen capable systems. Customers would be able take out prints as big as 4×6 inches in as little as five seconds. HP has further plans to expand the availability of these kiosks to cafes, airports, and hotel lobbies.
