Samsung Z5: Designed by the designer of Apple iPod
Samsung is going all the way this time. The company has been often accused of stealing design cues from Nokia and Motorola for their mobile phones. Now, they have gone a step further and have launched the Z5 digital music player, which has been designed by none other than the same person who designed the Apple iPod!
Market analysts have said that it would be interesting to see if Paul Mercer’s new creation would be able to match the success of his previous creation. It is more like a fight between the marketing skills and capabilities of Apple and Samsung.
Apple Computers has in fact admitted that they owe everything to the attractive design and ease of use of Mercer’s making when it comes to the success of the Apple iPod. Mercer left the company after a while considering he wanted to work on his own research.

Samsung has a little advantage here considering their play supports the Microsoft’s PlaysForSure technology and hence would be compatible with a large number of digital music stores out there. In comparison, Apple restricts the Apple iPod to support music purchased only from their own Apple iTunes.
