Seventymm unveils online movie rental service for Indian customers

India now has its own online movie rental service! Seventymm has announced that they are launching this service beginning with the city of Bangalore. They have further plans to roll out the service to the four metros and Hyderabad by the end of 2006.

In the later stages, they would expand this service to B and C class cities. For now, their target is the city of Bangalore where the company plans to use in-house services for collection and handling.

For other bigger cities, Seventymm plans to establish a supply chain and logistics management and may tie up with outside agencies. The company is currently offering as many as 10,000 movie titles in Hindi, English and Kannada languages.

Seventymm Founder Raghav Kher said in a statement on this new initiative: “We are aiming at revenues of Rs 2 billion over the next three years and 300,000 customers. Since the next wave, that is Video-on-Demand, is still some way off, we see a big opportunity here.”
