Google launches a mini version of Google Mini

Search engine giant has further enhanced their range of Google Search Appliances by launching a new smaller version of Google Mini targeted at small businesses. The latest Google Mini appliance has a 50,000 document capacity, half of what the original Mini will handle.

The company has priced it at a competitive £1,295 for their UK based customers. This latest launch comes just two months after the company launched two new models of Google Mini with increased capacities over the original Google Mini.

This latest launch further expands the capabilities of various Search Appliances company offers to their customers. The aim is to suit the requirement of any company, which wants an internal search solution for their intranet.

Rajen Sheth, product manager for Google Mini spoke about their latest offering: “What we have with Mini and the Search Appliance is a very simple out of the box product to quickly provide search, but you also can use it as a component of other applications. We have XML interfaces in terms of both retrieving search results on the Mini and for feeding documents into the Search Appliance.”
