Google becomes AMD friendly as it discards Intel servers
This is perhaps the best kind of indirect endorsement AMD can get. As pre incoming reports, search engine giant Google is now preferring AMD Opteron powered computers for all their new purchases.
This means that the company is somewhat planning to shift from Intel to AMD for their internal processors! Market reports claim that the company has as many as 200,000 internal servers worldwide and they are now buying AMD’s 64-bit Opteron processors for almost all new purchases.
This could result in a huge public relation disaster for Intel, which is already facing the heat from AMD in the server processors market. On the other hand, AMD can use a helping hand as big as that of Google!
AMD is already pursuing a lawsuit against Intel claiming that the market leaders indulge in anti-competitive practices by pressurizing companies like Dell to not purchase processors from them.
