Microsoft Origami to debut at Cebit technology fair

More information is coming out about the secretive Origami project being carried out by the software giants Microsoft. The website is in its second week now and confirms that the device would be launched on March 9, which means that the device is now expected to be launched at the upcoming Cebit technology fair.

Microsoft has confirmed this and have also confirmed that the leaked video available online shows an early prototype though the final version is expected to be a lot different. News sources online also confirms that the device would be powered by an Intel processor and is expected to run a customized version of Windows XP operating system.

Intel also has a teaser section dedicated to this device where they talk about the Ultra Mobile PC (UMPC) concept and refers to the concept that Bill Gates talked about at the 2005 Windows Hardware Engineering Conference. Intel would be releasing details on their part on 7 March at its Developer Forum in San Francisco.

News reports also claim that Samsung would be manufacturing this device for the company and it is expected to cost below USD 1000.
