TiVo Mobile: TiVo collaborates with Verizon to offer digital content on mobile phones

Pioneers in television program recording TiVo has collaborated with Verizon Wireless network. TiVo as a result would soon offer their users the ability to program television recordings straight from cell phones if they are on Verizon Wireless network.

This new agreement with Verizon would help TiVo expand their strategy to bring the digital video recording pioneer’s capabilities beyond its set-top-boxes and the television. They would be making available their services for mobile phones for the first time as a result.

This service would be called TiVo Mobile and it would also help the company showcase itself as different from other usual DVR offerings from cable and satellite TV operators. TiVo has not provided the details about the kind of agreement they have signed on with Verizon.

TiVo CEO Tom Rogers said in a statement on this new service offering: “TiVo isn’t just about a great way to watch television but it’s also about a great way to manage your TV life, and to do that, we realize TiVo can’t be isolated. It has to be integrated with all these other digital devices in people’s lives.”
