Apple iTunes to offer NCAA basketball games

Apple is the dominating player in the sales of digital content on the net through their online store Apple iTunes. The company has now confirmed that they would soon be making available condensed versions of the 63 Division I men’s NCAA basketball games for sale on their store.

These games and their highlights would be available for download a day after they air on CBS Corp. Apple would also be providing this year’s semifinal and championship games. The pricing has also been revealed, as the games would each cost the downloader $1.99.

Apple is also providing a “season pass” to all the games for a meager $19.99. This new offer comes in collaboration with CBS, which is already providing content to Apple on their Apple iTunes web store.

Apple began selling video content on their iTunes store in October last year and has already sold more than a million units. They are now making available content from ABC, NBC, MTV, Showtime Networks Inc., NASCAR, and Comedy Central.
