NASA delays launch of Space Shuttle to July

American space agency NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) has finally confirmed that they are delaying the launch of the upcoming space shuttle mission to the month of July.

The original plan had the Space Shuttle mission planned for the month of May. This delay is mostly related to the faulty fuel tank sensor, which has plagued the space agency for quite sometime now.

This problem had also earlier delayed the launch of the last Space Shuttle mission Discovery last year. The space agency said in a statement that it needs the time to open up the spacecraft’s hydrogen fuel tank and replace the sensor, which gave an electrical current reading that was slightly off.

They are further planning to replace the three other sensors in the tank, too, to be safe.
