Ford Fiesta selling more than Ford Ikon

Looks like Ford Motors has a winner in their hands with the recently launched model Ford Fiesta. As per incoming reports, Ford Fiesta has already become the largest selling mid-size sedan in February this year.

This means that Ford sold more Fiesta units than Hyundai Accent (second placed) and more importantly more units than the Honda City, which normally dominates this segment of the market.

However, the market is largely dominated by Tata Motors who sells the Tata Indigo Sedan. Market analysts believe that this is too early to measure the success of this new model from Ford considering it is early days and Ford is just completing the orders they had received during the booking season.

Honda is still expected to resume its leadership in this segment in the coming days considering the Honda badge still commands a lot of respect in the minds of Indian consumer. With the Diesel model of Ford Fiesta available in the market, Ford is no longer selling the 1.8-litre diesel version of the Ikon.
