Samsung expects Flash memory prices to stabilize soon
World’s largest maker of Flash memory modules, Samsung Electronics has said that they expect flash memory chip prices to stabilize at the end of the second quarter. This would happen as the demand for digital gadgets requiring these memory modules would stabilize.
The demand for digital music players and mobile phones has somewhat slowed down in the recent times which has led to poorer outlook for companies like Samsung and Hynix which manufacture the very popular flash memory modules.
Hwang Chang-gyu, president and chief executive officer of Samsung’s semiconductor business said in a statement on market trends: “Flash memory prices will stabilize at the end of the second quarter because demand is strong this year.â€
Considering the prices have fallen down much in the recent times, these benefits would eventually be passed on to the consumers, which are further expected to boost the demand for such players in the market.
