Chrysler recalling 269,000 vehicles to replace a faulty part
Automotive company Chrysler has stated that they are recalling as many as 269,000 vehicles to replace a faulty windshield wiper motor part. The company added that they have notified the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of this recall.
Chrysler would be calling models from the 2005 and 2006 model years for one of its sport utility vehicles and three minivan models. These vehicles are Dodge Durango, the Dodge Caravan and Grand Caravan, and the Chrysler Town & Country as per the statement released by the company.
However, the company also confirmed that no accidents have been reported because of the failure of a faulty metal armature on the wiper motor. The company would be notifying the owners as and when they have the spares available with the dealers in the various regions.
Chrysler is expecting that only a third or so of the wiper motors will need to be replaced but they would be inspecting them all for safety.
