PayPal Mobile: EBay testing payment by Cellphones using PayPal
One of the largest ecommerce stores in the world eBay has begun testing of payments through Cellphones for their online payment service PayPal. This new service offering enables the consumers to make and receive payments using Cellphones and other mobile devices.
PayPal Mobile is currently being tested by an unspecified number of EBay employees and would be available to users in the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom.
EBay has said in a statement that this new service would enable the users to make person-to-person payments, buy items, and donate to charities using mobile devices. For example, users would be able to purchase CDs, DVDs, shoes and other items by sending product codes as text messages.
However, customers would have to first enable this option in their PayPal backend and select a code to protect them against unauthorized users.
