General Motors working on a small car for India?

We had some idea about such a possibility after an inside source claimed that Delphi India was indeed working on setting up a base for manufacturing components for a brand new car for General Motors.

This was not for Chevrolet Aveo so well, it must have been for a different car. More reports are coming in claiming that GM is indeed working on developing a small car for the Indian market to achieve their targeted aim of achieving a 10% market share by the end of the current decade.

Reports coming in claims that GM is working hard on releasing a small car which would be competitive priced and take on existing players in the market like Maruti Udyog, Hyundai India, and Tata Motors.

General Motors India, Vice President (Corporate Affairs), Mr P Balendran said in a statement confirming the news: “The company is committed to launch a mini car.” GM has just recently launched the brand new Chevrolet Aveo in the Indian market and is soon going to bring the hatchback version named Chevrolet Aveo U-VA.
