Chevrolet Spark (Daewoo Matiz) should be here next year
Daewoo Motors was very successful with their funny little car Matiz in the Indian market. It remains one of my all time favorite cars. I bought a Swift earlier this month because I was tired waiting for General Motors, the new owner of Daewoo to launch Spark (as Matiz is known as now).
General Motors has said that they are planning to launch Chevrolet Spark sometime next year in the Indian market. This would be a slightly different looking updated model of the original Daewoo Matiz. The company plans to take models like Hyundai Santro, Tata Indica, Maruti Alto, and Maruti Wagon R heads on with Chevrolet Spark.
The company is looking for a suitable location for a Greenfield plant for its international range. And GM would be making Matiz at this plant with a proposed capacity of two lakh vehicles per year. GM has however not revealed their planned pricing structure for this car.
They are already selling this car in the European market with two engine options through 800cc and 1000cc. GM recently withdrew their Opel brand from the Indian market and is concentrating on focusing on Chevrolet for all their upcoming vehicles.
I have a feeling that my Swift would be on sale in the second hand vehicle market sooner than I had expected!

I HV DAEWOO MATIZ CAR. CAN I EXCHANGE THIS CAR FROM CHEVORLET SPARK AFTER LAUNCHING OF THIS CAR IN INDIA. MATIZ IS A ONE OF THE BEST CAR IN SMALL SEGMENT.

I am still waiting the launch of GM Spark I have a Matize which gave me woderful experience of driving.I want to change it for spark if launched.

Ugly and where did they come up with that color??? However it seems that this will be the trend so I’ll have to get use to seeing this kind of car, sure doesn’t compare with a Tahoe or Equinox.
