Google Blog: More accidents from Google
A company with so much power as Google cannot afford to make many mistakes. However, they are not immune to human errors after all as the company accidentally managed to delete their own official Blog hosted on Google Blogger service.
The address was then temporarily taken over by a third party user who had fortunately good intentions as he posted the following comment on the Blog:
“Google, fix your blog pleeasssee! P.S. Just to clear things up, I’m not associated with Google at all. I just wanted to take advantage of this before someone else with less worthy intentions did.”
Considering Google announces their official product releases through this Blog, the misuse of the Blog could have potentially resulted into more embarrassment for the company. The company has now fixed the issue and has confirmed that it was an internal mistake and no one had actually managed to hack into their service and deleted the Blog.
Google has been making news for similar goofs in the past. The company earlier this month accidentally posted a confidential financial forecast on its Web site, which resulted in their stock taking a beating in the share market. Later they failed to remove some presentation slides from their website, which had confidential insider information.
