Atom Entertainment targeting YouTube with mobile video hosting
YouTube is one of the fastest growing video hosting web service online. And it has gotten the attention of other big players in the market. Google is already providing a similar service through Google Video and now Atom Entertainment is trying to post a valid challenge by inviting people to post videos shot through mobile phones on their website.
Atom was found around 5 years ago when Atom Films and Shockwave.com merged together to form a single entity. They are expecting that their new service would bring more users to their website uploading their videos.
The aim is to lessen the gap compared to the very popular YouTube service in the coming months. For making this service more lucrative to the users, they would be showcasing the best of the lot on their AtomFilms website, which is popular for showcasing independent short films.
Atom is hoping to attract more companies to advertise on their website which have till not been reluctant to do so considering the amount of racy or mature content present on their website.
It would be interesting to see how these new entrants in the video hosting market would compete with each other to lure in the regular web user who wants to showcase his amateur videos on the internet.
