Google Video in India
Search engine giants Google recently entered the online video hosting and selling market sometime back. The company aims to take on competing commercial services like Apple iTunes and free ones like YouTube.
Google allows anyone to upload their videos and even make them for sale. The company keeps a small share of the sale. However, till a couple of days back, Google Videos were not available to users in India as the service was disabled for the people visiting from Indian IPs.
Many workaround were released in the Blogging world. The company has apparently now allowed Indian users to visit the service and watch videos live on their website. This is good news for the India based web users.
The company now faces more competition from another firm aiming to target the amateur video filmmakers as Atom Entertainment has announced their plans to start a similar service for videos made using mobile phones.
