Hyundai India sales up by 26.5% in March
South Korean auto giants Hyundai is doing well in the Indian market. Hyundai Motor India Ltd. has confirmed that its vehicle sales in March rose 26.5 per cent year on year to 30,038 units.
This is also the company’s highest sale ever in a month since it entered the Indian market. Sales in the domestic market reached an impressive 22,524 units. This is an improvement of around 37.5 per cent. Exports were up by 2 per cent to 7,514 vehicles.
Hyundai has made available models like Santro and Getz hatchbacks along with sedans Accent, Elantra, and Sonata. They also sell SUVs Terracan and Tucson, which are imported, fully built from South Korea.
Hyundai India had sales of around 252,851 units in 2005, up more than 17 per cent from the previous year. The company has added a third shift at the Chennai plant to meet the growing demand in the Indian market.
