Adobe Systems collaborates on Flash technology with Verizon Wireless
Adobe Systems has signed on their first such deal with Verizon Wireless where they would be developing mobile-based solutions for the mobile service provider. Adobe would be building the Flash animation software for usage on Verizon mobile phones.
The two companies however declined to reveal the financial details of this collaboration. This deal however would make Verizon Wireless the first wireless operator in the United States to offer mobile phones with built-in Flash technology.
Flash technology originally developed by Macromedia, which is now owned by Adobe, is one of the most popular interactive technologies on the internet. And bringing it to mobile platform would enhance the quality of interactive applications available on the mobile platform.
For adobe, it brings a brand new market for selling their products and solutions in the coming years. Japanese mobile firm, NTT DoCoMo Inc already provides similar solutions on their mobile phones though the American market would provide a major boost for Adobe.
