Now Hero Honda has worker problems
Honda has suffered it. Even Maruti Suzuki has suffered it. Now, Hero Honda is having problems with their workers going on strike.
As many as 4,000 contract workers at two-wheeler major Hero Honda’s Gurgaon plant has announced their decision to go on a strike. They are demanding regularization of their services in the company.
Devender Pradhan, leader of the contract workers union said in a statement: “We are demanding regularization of services of the contract workers who have been working for the company for the last 5-10 years on the basis of seniority.â€
Regularization of their services would bring many benefits to these employees. These include benefits such as compensatory off, medical facilities, salary accounts in banks, and ATM facility.
Pradhan added: “There are about 1,200 permanent workers, while 4,000 are on contractâ€. They are also demanding that the junior contract workers should be treated as casual workers, which entitles them for some benefits.
