Fujitsu Blu-Ray equipped PCs to arrive in June in Japan
Fujitsu Ltd. has said that they would be launching their first personal computers loaded with Blu-ray disk drives in Japan this coming June. This would make them the first company around to launch PCs equipped with these new generation storage drives.
However, Toshiba has already announced their plans to launch their notebooks equipped with HD DVD drives sometime next month. This data storage format is competing with Blu-Ray technology to become the standard for the next generation storage format.
Fujitsu would also be launching their notebooks with Blu-Ray capable drives in June. The company said that their PC would come with a 37-inch liquid crystal display (LCD) screen and cost around 600,000 yen.
In comparison, the notebook model would be sold for around 400,000 yen, which is around the price tag of the Toshiba’s HD DVD capable notebook product.
