Subaru targeting Iran for growth

Japanese auto giant Subaru has said that they are aiming at expanding their operations in the Asian country of Iran for further growth. Iran is a huge market for imports of expensive cars and Subaru aims to establish their brand in this sector.

The company has already seen sales of about 2500 Legacy sedans in this market. they are the fifth recent importer after Toyota, Mercedes Benz, BMW and Audi and they are planning to launch the 2000cc version of Legacy to rival Toyota Camry in the coming May.

In addition, two other SUV-style models, Impreza and Forester, are expected to follow suite in the near future. The Iranian government had recently reduced the duties on these imported cars and this has further made the market more lucrative for these international auto manufacturers.

Subaru is expected to price their full-option Legacy at 300 million rials.
