Google Calendar coming today

Reports coming in claims that the search engine giants Google would be launching their Google Calendar service sometime today. Screenshots of such a service has been available online for quite sometime and public access to this service is expected to begin from today.

Google Calendar aims to provide a convenient place for the users to store appointments online, receive reminders about them, and share those plans with others. Google has also added extra functionality to their Gmail mail service to recognize messages with details about an event or appointment so that the user can easily incorporate it in the Calendar module of the service.

Users would also be able to use simple English language commands to enter new appointments and schedules to the calendar. This would eliminate the need of filing up forms. Google has been pretty fast in adding up new features on their web portal to bring it on par with competing services from MSN and Yahoo!

Yahoo! has been offering their calendar service since 1998 but we at TechWhack have never actually used it due to its complicated nature of operating. Knowing Google, we are pretty sure that the service would indeed be very usable.
