Boeing to establish a base in Nagpur
US based airline manufacturing giants Boeing has said that they are planning to establish a USD 100 million Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) hub in the Indian city of Nagpur.
Boeing Vice-President Dinesh Keskar said in a statement: “The Boeing in principle has decided to establish the MRO in city and would spend a total of USD 185 million on MRO and allied activities.â€
He was speaking to the media personals at a function, which was attended by the civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel. Patel also announced a direct Nagpur-Bangkok flight, which is beginning from today.
Boeing has visited this city to check for its suitability for their project earlier this year. They would also be setting up an aviation academy at a cost of USD 75 million here to train the pilots.
