Singapore gets RIM BlackBerry on Treo 650
Research in Motion has said that the users in Singapore would become the first ones to get access to Blackberry email service on the Treo 650 smart phone.
The company has launched this service in Singapore in collaboration with local mobile giants Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel).
This deal allows the owners of Treo 650 PDA devices to access the BlackBerry push e-mail service and BlackBerry Enterprise Server without requiring a dedicated device.
Research in Motion also has plans to launch this service in other markets by offering their push email service on the Treo 650 device.
However, there is no fixed timeline for the launch of this service in other markets. For the time being, mobile users in Singapore can avail this service by acquiring the Treo 650 for $185 with a subscription to the BlackBerry Enterprise Solution Unlimited Local Data Usage Plan, which costs about $39 per month.
