Hero Honda Gurgaon plant strike ends
The five-day long strike by the contract workers in the Hero Honda factory in Gurgaon city has finally ended. As per incoming reports, the company management and the striking contractual workers have reached an agreement leading to this ending of the strike.
A senior Hero Honda representative said in a statement: “They (contract workers) have vacated their agitation unilaterally and the management has assured them that it will review their demands.â€
A representative of the workers who were on strike said that they have decided to resume working at the plant after the management promised to review the demands, including job regularization and salary hike.
Hero Honda was facing this strike since April 10, which has affected the production at their plant located in the city of Gurgaon. The striking contract workers were demanding regularization of jobs, higher wages, and medical facilities among other benefits.
