DaimlerChrysler is optimistic about the Indian market
DaimlerChrysler, the makers of the luxurious Mercedes Benz cars in India has said that they are very optimistic about the Indian automobile market. They are betting big on the positive economic trend here in India and are hoping to sell more Mercedes in the coming years.
Wilfried Aulbur, Managing Director and CEO, DaimlerChrysler India said in a statement that the economic boom in the country has been steady since 1999 and this means more potential customers for their cars.
He was speaking at a function in Hyderabad launching the new S-Class and M Class vehicles in this city. The company is hoping to sell more cars in the IT cities of Hyderabad and Bangalore where the purchasing power of the people is relatively higher than other major cities in the country.
Aulbur said: “We are currently present in 24 cities in India and will soon enter Indore and Agra. The S-Class and M Class vehicles, which in the price bracket of Rs 80 lakh to Rs 1.3 crore, elicited good response in Delhi and in Mumbai.â€
Mercedes Benz sold as many as 2,000 vehicles in India during the last fiscal out of over 1.46 million units sold globally.
