Microsoft working on Photo2Search technology
Software giants Microsoft continues to work on improving their search engine capabilities. The latest news coming is that the company is working on a technology they call Photo2Search.
This feature would enable the user to mail the company an image taken using a camera phone and the service would return results of Web pages containing either the information or images related to the original image clicked by the user.
Microsoft claims that this technology would help them augment the usual text inquiries with the details captured by photos. This would help them explore the possibilities of improving the search engine capabilities in the times to come.
Interestingly, this news comes just days after Google got a patent on a technology that enables a user to search using spoken words rather than typed text. It is interesting to see how the search engine technology is improving and what the future holds for the general web user.
