Burst.com sue Apple for infringing on its patents

More legal hassles are in store for Apple computers as they have been sued by Burst.com. Burst.com has filed a lawsuit in the Federal District Court in San Francisco claiming that Apple computers is infringing on four of its patents.

Burst.com has said that the following products are affected by their lawsuit:
Apple iTunes Music Store
Apple iTunes Application
Apple iPod
Apple QuickTime Streaming products

This lawsuit is in response to an Apple filing earlier this year, which asked the courts to rule that the patents owned by Burst were not related to their products. Burst on their part are demanding that Apple should pay them a reasonable royalty. They are also seeking an injunction against further infringement.

Burst’s Chairman & CEO Richard Lang said in a statement on this development: “We have a responsibility to protect our patents and to seek a fair return for the many years and tremendous investment that we have made in developing Burst technology and patents.”

Apple is yet to comment on this latest lawsuit filed against them. The company is already facing a lawsuit filed against them by the music group Beatles.
