InPhonic would sell phone plans on Amazon.com store
InPhonic Inc. has said that they are planning to soon start selling their cellular phones and service plans on Amazon.com.
This is expected to begin in the third quarter of the current year and this would become the first such deal of its kind for Amazon.com.
This multiyear deal between the two parties was announced on Thursday and this makes InPhonic the first reseller to sell mobile phone service plans in Amazon.com’s wireless store.
The financial details of this deal between Amazon and InPhonic were not revealed to the media.
Amazon.com has been selling wireless products and plans since November 2000. However, InPhonic would now be serving as the anchor third-party merchant in the store and they would be offering plans from the leading wireless carriers in the United States.
Kal Raman, senior vice president of Amazon.com, said in a statement on this deal: “We’re pleased to add InPhonic to our wireless store as our first third party merchant to offer activated cell phones with service plans.â€
