Apple launches 17-inch, $2,799 MacBook Pro
The rumors were true. Apple Computer has finally launched a higher end MacBook Pro laptop with a sticker price of $2,799. This one comes with a 17-inch display and continues the launches of Intel powered machines from the company.
David Moody, vice president of Mac hardware product marketing added his views on this new MacBook Pro. Apple had previously launched a 15-inch MacBook Pro in January at Macworld. This new variant also comes with a built-in iSight camera and a magnetic power adapter that automatically detaches if someone happens to trip over the cord.
Apple claims that this MacBook Pro is roughly five times better than the previous generation PowerBook G4. They are targeting this version at consumers which demand high performance machines like graphic artists and people who work with video applications.
The company is now expected to launch a cheaper, more consumer-oriented laptop in the coming months, as they would want to target the students heading back to school in autumn.
