Amazon.com to sell TV DVDs through CustomFlix Labs

Amazon.com has said that they would be selling DVDs of television shows and serials through their subsidiary CustomFlix Labs.

They have signed on deals with television networks including NBC Universal, which would enable them to sell DVDs of television shows soon after they air.

This would give the users another medium to get access to the missed television shows other than purchasing them through online stores like Apple iTunes.

The company would be initially selling DVDs of archived shows with a niche audience. Some of the planned shows include NBC’s “Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show” and “Antiques Roadshow” from PBS.

Interestingly, the deal would enable Amazon.com to offer DVDs of television shows within 24 hours of the first airing. This is similar in a way to how Apple iTunes operates with their partners.
