TiVo brings capability to record two programs simultaneously
Newer products from the TiVo Inc are now capable of doing much more than the previous versions. The company said yesterday that they are soon bringing products with dual tuners, which would allow the consumers to record two television programs simultaneously.
This new feature would make it easier for TiVo to compete against the traditional recorders provided by cable and satellite television operators. These are often distributed for free and come with dual tuners.
Market analysts had been curious in the recent times on how TiVo would handle the flattening growth of their user base. This should answer some of their queries. TiVo has generally failed to sign distribution agreements with more cable companies.
TiVo is planning to bring these new digital video recorders from the beginning of next month and they would be priced at $99.99 for 80 hours of recorded programs, after rebate and service activation.
