Skype to offer ringtones on sale to their users
Leaders in the VoIP software market Skype have found yet another way to enhance their sources of revenues. Skype has signed on a deal with four music publishers. This deal would enable the users of Skype to buy ringtones from a huge collection of tracks.
Skype has gone into a collaboration with Warner/Chappell Music, EMI Music Publishing, Sony/ATV Music, and the MCPS-PRS Alliance. They are also selling ringtones from pop singer Madonna in the Personalize Skype user section.
Skype is for now offering ringtones for sale in markets like United States, U.K., France, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Poland. This would be expanded to their users around the world in the coming weeks.
These latest deals would help them provide sound tracks from artists such as Green Day, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and more.
