AT&T collaborates with Yahoo! on VoIP
AT&T Inc. and Yahoo Inc. are collaborating together to roll out integrated Internet-based voice services for their customers in the US market.
This service also includes free voicemail and missed-call message retrieval. The Phone Out feature would also give the consumers the capability of making VoIP based calls.
Customers would also be able to place calls to traditional or mobile phones in more than 180 countries. Charges made to US based numbers and to more than 30 other countries would be charged at a meager two cents per minute or less.
Subscribers to this service would select a phone number to make and receive calls on their PCs from traditional and mobile phones. The charges for this service range from $2.99 per month to $29.90 per year through Phone In and Phone Out services.
The deal would also see AT&T becoming the Yahoo’s global preferred network termination provider for PC-based calling services in Yahoo Messenger with Voice service.
