Sony developing another player to take on Apple iPod
Apple Computers is the market leaders in the digital music player market. However, Sony is continuing with their efforts to challenge their domination with a new range of players currently under development.
Takao Yuhara, senior vice president of Sony said in a statement that they are developing a new music player that will go on sale in the U.S. and other markets over the next year. It would be supported with a companion download service and software. Just like the Apple iPod, we assume.
He added that this new player would be a typical Sony product with great design and a good battery life. The company is also yet to launch their recently launched A-series Walkman digital music players in the US market. They are currently available in the Japanese and European markets.
