AOL launches Financial Blogs with Weblogs Inc.

Time Warner’s internet division AOL has launched a series of financial blogs though its Weblog Inc. unit, which they acquired some months ago.

This is the first joint effort from the two companies. This new network would compromise of a collection of individual blogs, each dedicated to a widely held public company.

These blogs would provide independent analysis, news coverage, and commentary and would be available through AOL Money & Finance sections.

Some of the major companies covered in this program are Time Warner Inc., Google Inc., Yahoo Inc., Apple Computer Inc., EBay Inc., Microsoft Corp., Wal-Mart Stores Inc., and General Electric Co.

AOL would be adding more companies to this network as the time passes by. The blogs would be updated several times a day. With Google making an entry into the financial information market with their recently launched Google Finance Beta service, AOL needs to keep up their efforts to stay in this online segment.
