Samsung Q1 Origami device arrives in US markets
South Korea based tech giants Samsung Electronics have said that they have finally launched their Q1 device in the US markets.
Q1 is based on the recently unveiled Origami technology developed by Microsoft and Intel. And this Windows-based ultra mobile PC is now available for sale online through hardware reseller CDW.
Samsung Q1 would sell for $1099 in the United States. This is a bit higher than the upper limit predicted by Microsoft for these kinds of devices based on their Origami technology. Microsoft and Intel co developed the Origami project and the software giant had claimed that the devices powered using this technology would be priced between $500 and $1000.
Samsung also launched Q1 in their home market of South Korea with the price tag of $1264. In the coming days, the company also plans to make this device available through Best Buy’s online outlet. This would further be expanded to regular stores in the coming months. .
