Napster offering ad based free music listening service
Napster has added a new feature to their online service to compete better against the market leaders Apple iTunes.
The company is now offering a service allowing the web users to listen to over 2 million tracks for free!
This service is supported by online advertisement and Napster would be sharing revenues with the record companies. They were talking to these music companies since quite sometime for launching such a service for their customers on the net.
Users would now be able to listen to sound tracks online for free. They would also be able to send direct links of chosen tracks to friends.
However, they can only listen to the selected songs up to 5 times after which they would have to pay. This is a great way to select the songs before paying up to purchase them.
This new service comes with a Web-based music player, which is compatible with most browsers popular on the web. It is convenient for the user, as he would not be required to download any third party software to listen to these tracks.
