Microsoft adCenter now officially open for businesses in USA

Software giants Microsoft have finally launched their Microsoft adCenter for business in the U.S. This service would enable the businesses in the country to advertise online using Microsoft’s technologies, which now is taking on Google’s AdSense program.

The company is offering the business pay-per-click ads for all Microsoft online properties. MSN Search happens to be the most lucrative of these services. They were previously using the technology provided by Overture, which is owned by Yahoo!

MSN’s adCenter was running in beta testing since quite sometime powering their online services supplementing the Overture powered advertisements.

Microsoft is showcasing the adCenter’s ability to target buyers by day, by week, and by geography. They already have massive amount of data about web users through the usage of their MSN Search and Hotmail web services. This gives them huge power to provide targeted ads for the prospective customers for their online advertisement services.

Gartner analyst Andrew Frank spoke about MSN adCenter: “For small business owners and consumers who are users of Google’s AdWords, this could be a competitive option. It gives small advertisers a strategic choice — Microsoft’s allegedly superior targeting mechanisms versus Google AdWords’ reach.”
